On the 22nd of March, 2007, the municipality of Windberg received from the "Bavarian State Ministry of Agriculture and Forests" and the "Bavarian Congretional Committee" in Augsburg the award "Village Vital".
The "Bavarian Minister of State for Agriculture and Forests", Josef Miller, and the president of the "Bavarian Congretional Committee", Dr. Uwe Brandl, presented the prizes and awards to 24 Bavarian villages and municipalities. The honoured villages and municipalities showed exemplarily how the vitality of the village can be increased to a great extent by oneself and the attention can be directed to the inside development, Miller and Brandl pointed out.
